We are currently developing a special package specifically for school districts. The package we are developing is nearing completion. This school district package is being designed by Adam W. Metzler who has been a professional educator for 7 years and has the background to know exactly what school districts need. We offer school districts a number of options and you will see a layout of our packages below.
Black Bear Web Design does not offer hosting for schools. School district will either need to have their own servers to host the website or we can help you in obtaining servers through the company we use for hosting who has excellent uptime and support. We can work with you every step of the way to get your school district website up and running.
The two school district package below are a one time fee. The add-ons below are either a one time fee or continued yearly fees which will be mentioned with the package.
In additional to the packages laid out below we can do custom work on your school district website to fit your needs. Just give us a call or email and we can begin discussing your new school site!
School Package #1 - $3,000
- School District Website
- ACL - Access Control Levels meaning you can choose who can edit what page or sections allowing you to create teacher pages or club pages that only certain individuals can edit.
- Calendar - A full calendar system with categories that can allow individuals to print or export as an ical
- News - The ability to post school news
- Template will match your school colors - we will design the template to match your school colors
- Training/Turorials - Black Bear Web Design will work with your school district through email or in person if possible to help your district learn how to fully use the site, update it, and keep it maintained so your district has full control over it.
- Black Bear Web Design through its training will teach your district how to fully run the site and once complete, will not offer any additional support. If additional work is needed, the cost is $20/hour.
School Package #2 - Prices begin at $5,000, school size will effect cost.
- Includes everything from School Package #1
- LMS - A learning management system that allows you to create classes on the website. Each class you offer in your school district can have an additional online version so assignments can be posted/downloaded online. Students can submit assignments directly to the teacher online including attaching projects. You can also allow parents access so they can see what is going on for their students in each class their student is enrolled. The LMS is fully integrated with your website so there is only one login to use the website and the LMS.

Full Support - $2,000
- Full 24/7 support - This does not include updating information on web pages and uploading basic information to your site. This includes answering questions on how to perform certain tasks, fixing issues or errors that may show up, or anything else that can arise in day-to-day use of a website.
- Routine Backups (if not included with your server)
- Maintenance and Upgrade of all scripts to keep your site up-to-date
Google Apps for Schools - $10/per account for faculty, staff, or students
- Goolge apps has a free version for school the ability to create unlimited email accounts for your school domain name.
- With google apps you get gmail, google docs, google calendar, and much, much more!
- Share your calendar with other staff members, create documents in google docs and share with staff members

- Price for this plan includes setting up your domain for google apps, creating accounts, and training your tech leaders on how to use google apps so they can train the rest of your staff
- Black Bear Web Design will also supply written tutorials for faculty/staff members with step-by-step directions on how to use gmail, google docs, and google calendar.
